Max (Moses) Bensaude Abecassis
He changed officially his name from Moses to Max with authorization from the Ministry of Justice.
He was a partner in the company Abecassis (Irmãos) & C.ª. In 1916 this firm sold chemical and organic fertilizers and several other chemical products.
He lived in the house he built with garden and garage, in Rua Castilho, 24, in Lisbon. He spent the Summers in Vila Baía, Estoril, which later became the residence of Albano Eduardo da Costa Lobo and his third wife.
He married in the Shaaré Tikvá synagogue in Lisbon and it was the first marriage celebrated in that synagogue. He married with Mary Annette (Merita) Amzalak Abudarham, who was born in 1883 in Funchal, Madeira and had English nationality. She was daugther of Salomon Abudarham and Esther Abudarham Amzalak. She was during many years tresurer of the Israeli Hospital of Lisbon, when it was in Travessa do Noronha.
